Augustine's concert series started off with an ambitious program of music
for French horn and piano. Aimee Beaulieu, who came to Germany to pursue
graduate studies at the Peter-Cornelius-Konservatorium in Mainz in summer of
2003, made her European concert debut with world-class pianist Erika le
Roux. The duo performed Richard Strauss' Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major,
Franz Strauss' Nocturno for Horn Op. 7, and Beethoven's Sonata for Piano and
Horn Op. 17. The program was rounded off by two sets of compositions for
solo piano by Chopin and Schubert.
