THE GUITAR THROUGH THE
CENTURIES
Friday, April 16, 2004, 7:30 pm
Performed by Cameron Nelson

Well-known Wiesbaden talent Cameron Nelson takes us on a
journey of music from four centuries written or arranged for guitar.
Cameron's program begins with Renaissance pieces such as a lachrimae
by John Dowland and an aria with variations by Girolamo
Frescobaldi. We continue in time to the Baroque period with fugues by
J.S. Bach. Classical sonatas by Fernando Sor are followed by Romantic
melancholic pieces by Augustin Barrios and Spanish dances by
Miguel Llobet. Tangos and milongas by Astor Piazzolla and
Cardosa, as well as compositions by Dyens round off this evening of
exquisite guitar music.
