THE FOUR SOPRANOS BENEFIT CONCERT
Friday, June 2nd, 2006, 7:30 pm
From left to right: Emma Pearson, Tami Jantzi, Sharon Kempton, Deborah Lynn Cole, Erika le Roux
Italy may have its "Three Tenors", but St. Augustine's has something even
better! Four internationally renowned sopranos and their dazzling
accompanist from three continents of the English-speaking world are teaming
up to give a needed boost to the English Church's building fund.
The concert, to be held on Friday, June 2nd, 2006 at 7:30 pm at
St. Augustine's, is the first of the 2006 Fine Arts series "Music in the
English Church". Star sopranos
Deborah Lynn Cole of
Boston, Tami Jantzi of Chicago,
Melbourne native Sharon Kempton, and
Emma Pearson of Perth will be singing arias and
joining ranks in duets and even a four-woman ensemble piece, taking the
audience on a tour of opera including works by Puccini, Mozart, Delibes,
and Gershwin, just to name a few.
Their accompanist is a veteran of St. Augustine's series Music in the
English Church and is a Wiesbaden favorite. A native of South Africa, Erika
le Roux not only commands the keyboard, but is a soprano herself,
constantly on the move throughout the world as a concert pianist and active
as a vocal coach for many of the singers gracing the stages of the
Rhine-Hessen area.
What other church can boast four members who have performed as soprano
soloists with such renowned institutions as the Chicago Symphony (Tami),
Opera Australia (Sharon), the NBR New Zealand Opera (Emma), and the
National Theater in Mannheim (Deborah) and who are willing to donate their
time, energy, talent and the proceeds from this concert to the church
Building Fund?
It is an honour for us to host The Four Sopranos with Erika le Roux. Please
help us to make this our most successful concert yet!
