EMMA PEARSON - LYRIC COLORATURA SOPRANO
From shortly after her 25th birthday, Emma Pearson began her contract as a
solo ensemble member at the Hessisches Staatstheater, Wiesbaden. For this
company she is currently performing many roles including Blonde in Die
Entführung aus dem Serail, and Adele in Die Fledermaus. Previously to
this contract Emma performed in operas, musical theatre, oratoria, and
chamber recitals in London, Hamburg, Tokyo and Beijing as well as Australia
and New Zealand.
Emma completed her official opera training in 2003, after attaining a
Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Australia, and then 2
years at the Australian Opera Studio, graduating with Honours. In 2004 Emma
won the Australian Singing Competition?s prestigious Marianne Mathy
Scholarship and the Symphony Australia Young Artist Prize, while she was
performing in productions of Cos? fan Tutte and Carmen with NBR New Zealand
Opera. In the same year she also won the More Than Opera German-Australian
Opera Grant, which lead to her current contract to the Hessisches
Staatstheater.
Her hopes for the future are to continue performing and studying in Europe,
the UK and Australasia
